Hey, it’s Stephanie, focused on igniting your spark.
I thought I would just go live here and let you know what I’ve been doing lately. I have been doing a new coaching certification just to augment my skills so that I can show up and be the best coach that I can be for all of you peeps out there, and one of the things that has really resonated for me and something that I feel like all my clients actually, people should know, is the fact that we so underestimate the wisdom in our body, in our physiology, and we talk about energy, we talk about physiology in the coaching that I do, but one of the things that’s really stuck out for me lately is the fact that this body intelligent system that we have that takes in so much data, our senses, our extremities, everything, our whole body is an intelligent making system that we, in our culture, don’t pay a lot of attention to. We really pay a lot of attention to what’s going on in our minds, our thoughts. We don’t necessarily always pay attention to how our body is feeling, what our reactions are to things.
I read this story recently in a book, it’s… Ooh, can’t remember the name, but I’ll put it in the comments when I remember, but it’s about fear, and he talks about how this young girl goes to an elevator and the elevator doors open and there’s a man in there, and she can feel the hairs on the back of her neck raise, and her whole body was basically telling her, “Don’t get in the elevator,” and her head took over and said, “Don’t be silly. He’s seen you. You’re just acting silly,” and for the sake of proprietary and culture, she got into the elevator and unfortunately she was assaulted, and what really strikes home to me about that, what’s really resonated in the work that I’ve been doing, which is getting much more present, much more in tune with my body as an intelligent making system, is really listening to ourselves, not just here, but also here and also physically, and ensuring that all three of those things are aligned when we’re making a decision.
So when we are deciding to do whatever it is, is it not… Listen to our head, but are we listening to our heart, our emotions, are we listening to our body as well? Now we’re making sure that each of those intelligent systems are aligned. If one of them’s slightly off, maybe we need to take a step back and do a little bit more introspection to find out why that is.
Anyway, just thought I would pop in here and share that with you.
