We are living in uncertain times.  You know it, I know it, the whole world knows it.

And uncertainty triggers natural human reactions like retreat, resign, relinquish.

We retreat to what we know, the safety and security of our comfort zone.

We resign ourselves to the situation and don’t look for more.

We relinquish control and convince ourselves this is the way it has to be.

But in the words of Victor Frankl,

“Forces beyond your control can take away everything you possess except one thing, your freedom to choose how you will respond to the situation.”

You are the only person who determines how you feel. So you can choose to let this virus take you out or you can choose a different response – like Confidence.

Confidence that you can continue to grow, learn and increase your competence.

Confidence that you can be more, have more; live in alignment with that self-image and be congruent.

Confidence that you can add value by continuing to relate to others by connecting.

Now more than ever before we need to remember that it’s our connection with others that inspires greater congruence and competence, and thus confidence.

So what actions can you take right now that will not only keep you engaged, but see you reach the other side stronger and better than before:

  1. Develop Competence – what area could I focus on to increase my knowledge, skill or ability?  How often will I dedicate time to this practice?
  2. Be Congruent – the person I really want to be in life could be described as…   Three things I could do each week to live more congruently with that vision for myself include…
  3. Enjoy Connecting – the main reason I want to become better with people is…  Where can I put more effort into my relationships?

These 3 practices have been proven by high performers all over the world to have a remarkably positive effect in building confidence.  If you want to know more, I recommend reading High Performance Habits by Brendon Burchard and/or send me an email to steph@stephanie-barros.com for the worksheet – The #1 Thing: Confidence.
